Sending flowers to a hospital in Jordan

A considerate receiving plan starts with permission from the actual hospital and ward.

THE SHORT ANSWER

Ask the specific hospital and ward whether flowers are allowed for the patient before ordering. If they are, confirm the receiving point, patient name, delivery date and a local contact. Botanica’s policy follows hospital and venue rules and permits handover to reception or a designated area where required; it does not establish delivery to the patient’s room. If acceptance is uncertain or discharge is imminent, consider flowers at home after the patient returns.

Check permission at the right level

Botanica’s venue-delivery policy defers to the receiving location’s rules. Contact the hospital through its official channels and ask about the relevant ward. You do not need to provide the florist with a diagnosis. What matters for the delivery is whether flowers are accepted, which receiving point to use and whether the patient will still be there on the intended date.

Avoid treating a general hospital reception answer as permission for every ward. Follow the staff’s instructions for the specific situation, including any limits on containers, plant material or other gifts. This guide does not set medical rules for hospitals.

Keep the gift easy to receive

Ask the patient or a close contact what would be welcome. A large bouquet can take up space, and a wrapped arrangement may require someone to find and fill a container. If flowers are permitted, check the selected product’s dimensions and whether a vase or other container is included.

Be cautious about adding food without checking what is suitable and allowed. A flower-and-cake bundle is not automatically an appropriate hospital gift. The patient’s preferences and the hospital’s directions should decide the plan.

A hospital receiving brief

Complete only after the relevant hospital or ward confirms acceptance. Keep the patient’s diagnosis and other unnecessary medical information out of the order.

  • Acceptance confirmed by: [ward or receiving team, and the instructions they gave].
  • Patient: [name needed to identify the delivery].
  • Destination: [hospital address and agreed receiving point].
  • Date: [confirmed date while the patient is expected to be there].
  • Handover contact: [person who agreed to be called and can collect the gift].
  • Restrictions to follow: [the venue’s actual instructions, if any].

If a relative is coordinating, obtain their agreement before listing their phone number. Ask them to notify you if the patient moves rooms or leaves the hospital, so the shop can assess any change before dispatch.

Account for a changing discharge plan

Hospital stays and room assignments can change. Check the receiving arrangement again close to the delivery date if circumstances are uncertain. If the patient has returned home, contact the florist before dispatch to ask whether the destination and date can be changed.

Do not assume a driver can simply redirect to a new address without affecting the order. Ask what is possible and whether the change alters the fee or schedule. If no suitable handover can be agreed, a later home delivery may be the more considerate choice.

Know who completes the handover

Some venues receive gifts at a desk or designated delivery point. Ask who takes the flowers from there to the patient and how quickly they can be collected. Botanica’s policy allows handover at reception, a front desk or a designated receiving point when direct delivery is not possible. Confirm who will complete the room handover; the policy is not evidence that a particular ward permits flowers.

If the hospital declines flowers, respect that decision. A personal message now and flowers at home later can preserve the thought behind the gift without creating a difficult delivery.
