Sending flowers to a hotel in Jordan

Arrange the reception handover before you plan the surprise.

THE SHORT ANSWER

To send flowers to a hotel in Jordan, confirm that the property accepts gifts for the guest, then give the florist the booking name, hotel address, date and agreed receiving point. Botanica follows the hotel’s rules; its policy says responsibility ends at reception handover when that is the required arrangement. Room placement and storage need the hotel’s separate agreement. Do not assume that a delivery to reception means the guest has received the bouquet.

Ask the hotel before choosing the gift

Contact the specific property through its official contact details. Explain that you would like to send flowers to a guest and ask whether reception can accept them. Check the guest’s stay dates, the booking name and any required labelling. Do not ask the hotel to disclose private guest information; obtain the details you need from the guest or the person arranging the stay.

Under Botanica’s published handover terms, the hotel determines the receiving arrangement. A hotel may have its own process for external deliveries. Use its actual answer rather than assuming a policy applies to every hotel in Amman or elsewhere in Jordan.

Distinguish the three handover stages

  1. The florist delivers the gift to the agreed hotel receiving point.
  2. Hotel staff accept and identify the gift for the guest.
  3. The guest collects it, or the hotel separately arranges a room handover.

Ask who is responsible for each stage. If you want flowers waiting in the room, that needs an arrangement with the hotel; a courier’s arrival at reception alone does not establish it. Botanica’s hotel-delivery policy states that its responsibility ends at the reception handover where the hotel requires that arrangement. It advises arranging prompt collection and does not accept responsibility for later delay, loss or mishandling by hotel staff.

Choose a practical presentation

A traveller may not have a vase, scissors or somewhere to display a large bouquet. Check whether the selected arrangement includes a suitable container, and ask about its dimensions if space or onward travel matters. A smaller, clearly specified gift can suit a short stay better than a very large bouquet.

If you include a cake or another food item, check the hotel’s acceptance and storage arrangements separately. Flower reception does not prove that the same desk can hold food until the guest returns.

A hotel handover brief to confirm

Fill this in after speaking with the property. The brackets are prompts, not a sample booking or confirmation.

  • Guest: [full booking name supplied by the guest or trip organiser].
  • Property: [hotel name and exact address].
  • Acceptance: [receiving point and hotel contact who confirmed it].
  • Date: [agreed date during the stay].
  • After reception: [guest collection or room handover separately arranged with the hotel].
  • Gift: [flowers, container and any extras that reception has accepted].

Use a room number only if you have a current, authorised one. If the stay changes, update both the hotel and florist. Check that the agreed receiver can look after the gift until it reaches the guest.

Make the surprise depend on a confirmed plan

For an anniversary stay, agree the hotel handover first, then select the flowers and ask the florist about the available schedule. Tell reception whether the guest should be contacted immediately or whether you have another accepted arrangement.

After delivery, ensure the guest or agreed hotel contact knows to collect the flowers promptly. If the stay changes, contact both the hotel and florist with the order reference. A successful reception handover still needs a practical route from the desk to the guest.

Questions you may still have

Can flowers be delivered straight to a hotel room?

That depends on the hotel. Arrange room placement with the property; do not assume it is included in the florist’s delivery.

What name should I put on the delivery?

Use the guest’s full booking name and the hotel’s requested labelling details. Keep your own name in the sender information.

What if the guest has not checked in?

Ask the hotel whether it can accept and hold the flowers before arrival, and agree how the guest will receive them.
